At Dungeon.shop, we believe that all art is human made by definition. Not only do we guarantee that all art is free of the use of any generative AI technology, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any other LLM or Image-Generation software. We also guarantee that the text, services, customer support, distribution, and everything else within our control is free of the use of that harmful and immoral technology.
Why is this our stance?
Simply put, there are two primary reasons why we will not use this technology, as it currently exists and has been historically created:
- Art is by definition a human endeavor. Art is a deep and expressive form of communication from one human to another. We truly believe that in order for that communication to be meaningful, it must be between people, not machines. The message, craft, care, and love that has been put into every image, text, and email from this site was painstakingly crafted with human hands and with the intention of being consumed by human minds. Art is not a product, it is a language.
- Large Language Models in their current form, and in currently proposed forms, are immoral and constitute the largest theft of intellectual property in existence. No artist, writer, actor, designer or creator consented to their work being soullessly scraped from the internet, plundered away, to be used by mega-rich billionaires to fuel their needless extraction of wealth from the many to the few. We will not take part in that wealth extraction. We are victims of it, as are all artists.
- Finally, the impact on society, our economy, and the climate and world necessitate that we stand in solidarity to oppose these technologies in every form.
